The axis and the yoga

Rahu and Ketu are not bodies but points: the two places where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic. They sit exactly opposite each other, so they cut the zodiac into two halves. Kala Sarpa forms when all seven classical planets fall within one of those halves.

The yoga takes one of twelve names depending on which house Rahu occupies, from Ananta through to Sheshanaga. A single planet sitting outside the arc breaks the condition entirely, which is why charts often come close without forming it.

The tradition reads Kala Sarpa as concentration rather than curse. Everything in the chart points one way, which tends to mean effort gathers behind a single direction and results arrive later and more abruptly than they do for others. It is considerably more common than most websites suggest.
